Donald Trump has announced the introduction of 25 percent tariffs on selected European goods. - His strategy is based on creating chaos and uncertainty among the partners with whom he plans to negotiate - assessed Krzysztof Wojczal in the program "Gość Wydarzeń".

On Wednesday evening, Donald Trump announced that he would soon announce tariffs on goods from the European Union . The tariff is to be 25 percent and will apply to cars, among other things.

- Let's be honest, the European Union was created to deceive the United States . That's its goal and they did a good job. But now I'm the president - said the US president .

According to geopolitical analyst Krzysztof Wojczal, this announcement is in line with Trump's strategy so far.

- The United States is currently the strongest politically and can (Trump-ed.) put pressure on its partners, allies, but also competitors or rivals - he said in an interview with Piotr Witwicki.

As he recalled, an agreement on the exploitation of Ukrainian natural resources could be signed on Friday.

- The next step is, of course, to press the European Union and this very harsh Trump narrative, let us recall that it also accompanied the negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky - he emphasized.

As he emphasized, "now is the time for the European Union and big deals with Europeans", and everything is going according to Trump's earlier announcements.

- He will probably now want to force the European Union to even out the trade balance between the United States and the European Union and at the same time sell us more gas and oil - the expert pointed out.

As he noted, "these tariffs are intended to convince us to accept Donald Trump's conditions ."

Wojczal also stressed that the EU found itself in this difficult situation because Donald Trump has a number of tools with which he can dictate terms to Europe.

- The Americans are the largest market for the European Union, they allow us to earn money, so if they impose tariffs on us, there is not much to respond with - he commented.

As he mentioned, it is the Americans who provide a nuclear umbrella when it comes to security against Russia, and their troops are stationed in Europe, also on NATO's eastern flank.
